about

Despite the themes of unity and non-violence in the music, this show did devolve into a riot.

The CD for this show sat on my shelf for 15 years, as a strange milepost for the band. It wasn't one of our best shows, but it was definitely memorable so I printed up a CD of the minidisk recordings I made of all my shows.

Omar, our bass player at the time, passed away earlier this year. He wasn't with the band very long, and this is one of the only recordings of him with us. He was new, so you can hear him finding his groove on some tunes.

It's still an interesting representation of him, especially as he tries from the mic to stop a fight between a random Marine who made it to our show and a friend of his when he running with SHARPs (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice), and less into the reggae / Rasta scene. The fight was bloody, ugly, and put a big damper on the band's current momentum.

I'm thankful for the time I got to spend with Omar, and all the good times we had. I'm also thankful for the opportunity to have had such a talented group of musicians help bring my songs to light.

Special thanks to Adam Hill who did what he could to make a casual minidisk recording sound as good as possible.
